Tickets only £7.00 Home Education Day Explore Spring on the Farm

Spend a Spring day at Sacrewell explore how food, farming and the countryside are affected by this season. 

Programme for the day:

10:00 - 10:30 Arrival and welcome talk

10:30 - 11:00 Tractor ride: Spring Crops or Lamb Show: Reproduction and Inheritance

11:15 - 11:45 Tractor ride: Farming and the countryside or Lamb Show: Animal Babies

12:00 - 13:00 Spring Salads (there is an additional £3 charge per learner for this food activity)

13:30 - 14:00 Reflections on our learning

14:15 - 15:15 Earthworm Watch Survey

17:00 Farm closes for the day

Your ticket includes admission for one learner, admission for an accompanying adult and led activities from the programme. Each led activity session has space for a maximum of 10 learners. Spaces will be allocated on arrival on a first come, first served basis. Resources for self led activities will be available and you will also be welcome to spend time exploring the farm or visiting the Playbarn. The Playbarn is suitable for those up to 12 years old.

Tickets only £25.00 Calm Home Education Day A small group Home Education visit

Spend a Spring day at Sacrewell explore how food, farming and the countryside are affected by this season. This day is specifically aimed at those who prefer to be in small groups and want to work on building their confidence. Each group will have a maximum of 3 learners plus their accompanying adults.

Programme for the day:

10:00 - 11:00 

Group A: Arrival and Spring Salad food activity. This session will involve an optional walk to our walled garden to collect ingredients, followed by preparing our salad and dressing in an indoor space.

11:00 - 12:00

Group A: Lamb Experience. This session will take place in the lambing shed, which can be a noisy environment as ewes and lambs call to each other. You will get up close to our new born lambs and practice your animal care skills.

Group B: Arrival and Spring Salad food activity.

12:00 - 13:00

Group A: Lunch and free time to explore the farm.

Group B: Lamb Experience

13:00 - 14:00

Group A: Earthworm Watch conservation activity and Farewells. This session will take place outside in one of the quieter areas of the farm. We will be finding out how healthy our soil is here on the farm and contributing to a national citizen science project.

Group B: Lunch and free time to explore the farm.

14:00 – 15:00

Group B: Earthworm Watch conservation activity and Farewells.

Farm Closes
